Although you can register your domain name for a minimum of 1 year, we would recommend that you register it for a longer period than that. Thousands of individuals, companies, and organizations lose their domain names due to such avoidable reasons as forgetting to update their contact information, missed renewal payments, domain name hijacking, employee sabotage, and even computer or clerical errors. This results in web sites and e-mail being disrupted for weeks, and it's quite possible that you may never be able to recapture that name if someone else registers it before you. If your domain name is important to you, or you want to avoid the inconvenience of losing your domain, register it for as long as you can afford.
